The InBody570, a body composition analyser created by Biospace and launched in 2013, has won a Red Dot Award for Product Design.

The InBody570, a smart healthcare solution launched in 2013, has been presented with a Red Dot Award for Product Design after a vote by a 40-member Red Dot jury. The body composition analyser designed by Biospace combines optimal functionality with outstanding product design, and has been recognised by the jury in the category of medicine and life science. The jury's evaluation criteria for the 2014 competition included quality, innovation, functionality, ergonomics, durability, product peripherals, symbolic and emotional content, and ecological compatibility.

The design of the InBody570 was guided by the human body, with the handles and foot electrodes designed to make the thumb and soles of the person measured automatically take correct measurement positions. The body composition analyser was launched at the MEDICA 2013 in Dusseldorf and will be featured at the FIBO 2014 in Cologne in April. The device can accurately analyse fat and muscle content in individual body segments (arms, legs, torso), as well as body water, proteins and minerals. The analyser can be wirelessly connected to a computer using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

The InBody570 can directly assess imbalances, deficits, and health risks, making it easier for users to select the most effective solutions for training and prevention. The device can accurately measure skeletal muscle mass, weight, BMI index, ECW ratio, and body fat percentage, among other things, and it provides users with the Body Composition History graph, which shows them the progress they have made over time.

The Red Dot Design Award is an international design competition to recognise the top achievements in design and business. The Red Dot Award is recognised internationally as a label of quality product design, design concepts, and communication design.

Chang-Hun Jo, Managing Director, InBody Germany, said, "We are delighted to receive this award, as it is a confirmation of the quality and outstanding development [of] InBody systems. This award is not only an honour for designers, manufacturers and distributors of a product, it is above all a sign of quality for consumers and a strong selling point in the commercial."
